Behind the Scenes: re-stocking Koigu

newkoigu1

About two weeks ago, Leah and I took on the task of putting about 75 pounds of Koigu’s gorgeous hand-painted KPM solids and KPPPM multi up on the shelves–which were already pretty packed with yarn! We took everything down and arranged it in color order on the table. We started with the KPM and did the KPPPM separately–and even so there was not enough room on the table for all the KPPPM colors! We were stepping over piles of yarn everywhere.

Arranging by color was really fun, though a bit more challenging than I expected, especially when it comes to some of those gorgeous multi-color KPPPMs. We didn’t quite have to flip a coin for any of the colorways, but it was close!

By making a “neutrals” bin for the KPPPM (we already had one for the KPM), we managed to arrange everything in almost-perfect ROY G. BIV rainbow order.

On the left is a photo of the KPM arranged on the table, with reds and oranges closest to the camera and pinks (which we put after purple in our rainbow) farthest away.

Leah is an absolute whiz at taking a stack of yarn and neatly fitting it into one of our triangles. Below you can see a fun photo I snapped of her hard at work putting the yarn away!

Come into the shop and see our Great Wall of Koigu!
