We’ve all gone crazy over Madelinetosh yarns. In December, I picked up a skein of Pashmina in the gorgeous Moorland colorway, a deep green with bluish undertones. I knew it was exactly the right yarn to knit up Laura Chau’s Milkweed Shawl. Though the pattern calls for fingering weight, it came out just fine in sport weight! I used my 29-inch size 4 Clover needles. I had a little yarn left over, probably exactly enough for a swatch. (I admit it–I skipped it this time. I can’t endorse this kind of recklessness, though!)
The project took me just under two weeks. I knitted it almost entirely on the bus to and from the shop!
Pashmina makes exactly the soft, luxurious fabric one might expect from its name and fiber content (15% silk and 10% cashmere, with supersoft merino wool making up the other 75%) and this shawl feels like a soft cloud wrapped around my shoulders.
I’m not sure if I’m more anxious to use Madelinetosh for another project, or to cast on another Cosmic Pluto Knits pattern. Hmmm, maybe I can combine the two…
While I ponder my next project, stop by the store or pop over to the Madelinetosh page to see the beautiful colors we’ve just restocked! In addition to Pashmina, we’ve got Merino Light, also perfect for shawls.
