Janet Lawton is knitting teacher in Los Angeles, California. She began knitting when she was expecting her first child, with the intention of creating made-with-love pieces that would have meaning for her sons as they grew. She loves knitting for babies and children and luckily has several nieces and nephews.

This has led Janet to designing for babies and children. She starts with the yarn, choosing textures and styles that suit the fiber and keeping comfort in mind for the wearer. She likes clean, classic patterns that are simple to knit. Two of her designs are pictured here.

As well as designing, Janet teaches knitting and is working toward becoming a master knitter through The Knitting Guild of America.
We are thrilled to debut Janet’s next pattern, Baby Gift Set, knitted in Baah! La Jolla. Look for it in our booth at Vogue Knitting Live!
